Important life moments caught with grace and elegance
Outback Western Australia
I got the chance to live and work for 3 months in the outback of the Pilbara in WA. Working on a cattle station, joining a team during the mustering, chasing cows and bulls, being chased by cows and bulls (my fence jumping skills have definitely improved).
Learning how to drive 4-wheelers, 2-wheelers, loaders, trucks, fixing cars, welding and driving full send through soft sand and dry river beds. It was definitely one of the most intense and interesting jobs I've ever had, with no room for mistakes, lost of challenges, working in 40+ degrees heat, early mornings and 12-14h working days.
I wanted to know what the life on a cattle station would be and how the industry works, and I'm very thankful for the opportunity I got.
