The Chureito Pagoda (忠霊塔, Chūreitō)

七転び八起き (Nanakorobi yaoki) means "Fall down seven times, stand up eight." This simple yet powerful Japanese proverb perfectly captures the spirit of resilience and perseverance which is the essence of Japanese culture.

2 weeks in Japan

in April 2025 I spend 2 weeks in Japan and it had me absolutely speechless. The hospitality, the well dressed people, the groups of business men and women in full suit leaving the office at 6 pm (or at 9), how friendly and helpful people were and. to to forget the temples, dinners that look like art and the spotless streets.

I started my trip in Kagoshima where I visited Sakurajima ( the most active volcano in Japan) and traveled up with the Shinkansen and regular train to Hiroshima, Osaka, Nara, Kyoto and I ended my trip in Tokyo.

I was very lucky that the cherry blossoms were delayed because of the cold temperature a few weeks prior, so I got to enjoy the blossom from the start to the end of my trip with a highlight of my day trip to Mount Fuji.
